about

At the threshold to its tenth anniversary Hamburg based label hfn music once more looks back at an eventful year and compiles some of the best songs from hfn music and its sublables hafendisko and In My Room.

Trentemøller’s brand new cover of Neil Young’s ‘Transformer Man’ that he made with the help of singer Marie Fisker opens up the compilation album.

A new discovery on hafendisko is Polish producer and musician MANOID who just released his debut album ‘Truth’ from which ‘For Roses’ has been picked.

Taken from the 2nd Sisters & Brothers gathering is the low-slung electro shugger ‘Le Nez D’Une Génération’ from Rodion & Local Suicide an Italian, Greek, German co-production, before Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan takes the mike for Null + Void’s ‘Where I Wait’ which appears here in the remix from The Hacker.

Alongside Russian Girls & Kraftgalli’s contribution, Bryan Kessler is one of the findings of the Sisters & Brothers series, a subbrand spearheaded by Scandinavian entrepreneurs Kasper Bjørke and Sexy Lazer.

Since this is a ‘best of’ we’ll find more highlights:
a raw slice of New York housey underground upbeat electronics from Jordan Lieb aka black light smoke, a punchy acidiac track from Venezuela born Pablo Sanchez, a lush piece of finest Outsider-Pop from Danish trio ticktock and ‘Fahrenheit’ from French synthesizer nerd Sebastopol.
The poppier side of things is represented by 2nd Blood’s propulsive and stromy “Type 9000”, Jacob Bellens’ irresistible ‘Renegade’ and finally Lydmor, the new Danish Electro-Pop discovery and ‘五 DIM’ from her new album ‘I Told You I’d Tell Them Our Story’.
